Disaster Preparedness Manual
We are all dismayed at the events of September 11, 2001 and after. How can we be safe? Henrico County's excellent Division of Fire has prepared a Community Disaster Preparedness Manual (pdf, 143 kb), which covers many kinds of disasters, including hurricanes, winter storms, and terrorism. The manual includes lists of things to do before and during an emergency, and lists of things you might want to have on hand. Here is the Spanish version: Manual de Preparación comunal para casos de desastres (PDF).
Henrico Alert - sign up to receive text alerts of a major crisis or emergency in the County on your cell phone, etc. There is no fee charged for the alerts by the County, though your private cell phone provider may charge standard text message rates.
