What is the Capital Area Training Consortium (CATC)?

Capital Area Training Consortium is a federally funded organization supported by the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 through the U.S. Department of Labor to provide workforce services to employers, youth, adults, and dislocated workers.

Is there a fee for services?

Currently services are free to eligible job seekers & employers.

Where is CATC located?

North of the James River: 5410 Williamsburg Road, Sandston, Virginia 23150
South of the James River: 7333 White Pine Road, Richmond, Virginia 23237

What are CATC's hours of operation & telephone numbers?

Office hours are: Monday - Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday 8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

What services are available for older workers? (Aged 55 and above)

All the previously listed services are available for older workers.

How can CATC services help me decide what job/career is best for me?

Interest and aptitude testing is offered to help determine a career that is right for you.

Who can attend CATC sponsored Workshops?

CATC hosts a variety of workshops for the general public and also specialized workshops for eligible customers. Checkout the offerings at our calendar of events. Advance registration is required.

Does CATC provide financial assistance for training?

When funds are available financial assistance is offered on an as needed basis for those unemployed, underemployed, economically disadvantaged and dislocated workers who need training to secure employment. Financial assistance is only available to those who meet the federal guidelines for assistance and only after documented attempts to secure employment have been unsuccessful.

Orientation is offered to customers on a walk in basis.
