Fitness & Wellness

The Henrico County Fitness/Wellness Program is administered by the Department of Human Resources and offers FREE benefits in the Fitness/Wellness arena to Henrico County employees. Being active and physically fit improves the overall health and well-being of the Henrico County employee population. Through the Fitness/Wellness program, you can exercise on your own using the equipment in the weight room, attend fitness classes or schedule a personal appointment with one of our fitness trainers:

2008 Fitness & Wellness Achievements

Maintain Don't Gain Challenge—Congratulations 2009 Participants!

Employees from eleven county departments participated in this holiday weight maintenance challenge. Four of the eleven departments have come away with the bragging rights.

The departments of Recreation and Parks, General Services, Public Works, and Human Resources were able to maintain their starting weight during the 2009 holiday season.

A big congratulations for a job well done goes out to all the participating employees for their determination to succeed in not gaining weight during the holidays. 42 of the 54 participants maintained their weight, and for some there was an unexpected bonus because they lost weight. In fact a total of 309 lbs were lost during the challenge.

Good job everyone, and for the winners—feel free to let the other departments know who is best!
