New Ordinance Effective April 1 - The Henrico County Board of Supervisors approved an ordinance that amends the County of Henrico Code to now require the County to access criminal history records on all persons conditionally offered employment with the County. All employees and the general public participating in a competitive employment process must provide personal descriptive information and fingerprints that will be used to access criminal history records. These records will be used to determine whether past criminal conduct, if any, is compatible with the nature of employment. The new code enhances the County's current criminal history records check program and was adopted in the interest of public welfare and safety. For questions regarding this new program, please contact the Department of Human Resources Employment and Staffing Division at 501-4628.
