George Drumwright has direct responsibilities over the Capital Area Workforce Investment Board and Community Corrections Program as well as Juvenile Detention, Mental Health and Developmental Services, Public Health, Social Services, and the Virginia Community Crime Control Act. Mr. Drumwright has been with Henrico County for over 30 years. Prior to his current duties, Mr. Drumwright was Deputy County Manager for Finance and Administration.
In addition to his other duties, Mr. Drumwright is a former president of the National Association of County Human Services Administrators (NACHSA) and Virginia Association of Local Human Services Administrators (VALHSO). He is a member of the Virginia Local Government Management Association (VLGMA) and NACo Health Steering Committee and served on the NACo Board of Directors. Mr. Drumwright also served two terms on the Virginia State Board of Health as the first local government representative and is a founding member and Trustee of the Henricus Foundation. He is an alumnus of Leadership Metro Richmond, Class of 1981, which is a community leadership program affiliated with the National Association for Community Leadership.
Mr. Drumwright received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Old Dominion College (now Old Dominion University) and a Master in Public Administration from The American University in Washington, D.C.
