Cold Case Investigation

At Henrico County, Division of Police, the Cold Case Review Team is dedicated to bringing closure to the many families involved and the investigators who worked these unsolved cases. The team reviews all “cold cases” by re-examining all evidence, interviewing and reinterviewing all potential witnesses.

Two investigators are currently assigned over 80 cases. A case becomes “cold” when the original investigator has eliminated any and all potential leads and evidence or needed witnesses do not exist. Cases may include homicide, rape, and missing persons.

This website allows the victim’s families the ability to contact the Investigator directly to obtain updated information on their particular case. This also offers the opportunity for potential witnesses to share information they may have on any case.
