Online Registration for Free Programs:
Registration for free programs (that require registration) is available online. Go to the online registration page to set up an online account with Recreation and Parks. Once you have an account, you will be able to register online for these free programs beginning September 11 at 8 a.m.
Instructors:
Unless listed otherwise, programs are taught by Recreation Staff. All fitness, dance, and sports programs are taught by instructors who are nationally certified in their area(s) of expertise.
Special Accommodations:
If you have a disability and will need assistance or special accommodations in order to enjoy any of these programs or events, call Therapeutic Recreation at 501-5112 no later than ten working days prior to the program date. For programs that require registration, please call and also check the accommodation box on the registration form.
Leafy Tees
For ages 13-15. Want to make a shirt that is one of a kind and will impress your friends? We will make our very own leaf shirts, and the design is 100% up to you. You will need to bring your own shirts to class, but all other supplies will be provided. Information: Hallie Boisseau, 501-5807.

Teen Adventure Group (TAG)
For ages 13-16. Want to have an adventure once a month with your friends? Come out and try the Teen Adventure Group (TAG)! Each month, we will get together for an adventure that YOU choose. All you need to do is sign up for the group, tell us what you would like to do, and then you will be notified of the monthly activity over email. You can join the club and then choose what you want to come to! The group begins in September, but it is never too late to join in the fun. Teen Leader Connection (TLC)
For ages 13-16. Our teens are talking, so let’s give them our attention! This program is designed to empower youth through participation in a range of youth leadership development activities. Pre-Super Bowl Party

Guitar Primer (Prep Course)
For ages 11-15. For the complete beginner who has not learned about holding the guitar, tuning, chords, or notes. Students are introduced to simple music notation and will develop skills to continue in music. Desire to learn and a guitar (acoustic or electric) are the only requirements. Instructor: Scott Martin. Electric Guitar (Power Chords)
For ages 9-15. For those who know a little about guitar and want to learn chords and riffs that make electric guitar sound different than acoustic. Learn two note open and moveable power chords with songs by such artists as Green Day, Weezer, and Jimi Hendrix. Electric guitar preferred. Book: Power Chords: A Beginner's Guide with 20 Killer Rock Riffs.

Hoop Dreams (Making the Cut)
For ages 14-17. Get ready for school tryouts with Henrico's first basketball clinic specifically designed for basketball players focused on making their high school basketball team.
