March-November:
Tuesday-Sunday, noon-4 p.m.

December-February:
Saturday & Sunday, noon-4 p.m.
(Closed first two weeks in January.)

Meadow Farm Museum, an 1860 living history farmsite and museum, presents programs and exhibits on the culture of the rural South. Costumed interpreters provide insight into the lives of Dr. John Mosby Sheppard, the owner of Meadow Farm, and his family. On selected weekends, they demonstrate seasonal activities in the farmhouse, barn, doctor’s office, blacksmith forge, kitchen, fields, and pastures. Also visit Meadow Farm’s Gift Shop for a variety of items.

Volunteer Opportunities

Sewing Guild
For ages 16 and older. If you enjoy a variety of textile projects, this may be the volunteer opportunity for you. Members participate in programs as well as reproduce textile projects for program use. New members are always welcome. Information: Anna Truong, 501-2130.

Agricultural Guild
For ages 16 and older. If you enjoy gardening and the companionship of good folks, this may be your volunteer opportunity. The Meadow Farm Agricultural Guild meets to work the field crops and heirloom garden. New members are always welcome. Information: Anna Truong, 501-2130.

Remembering Mrs. Sheppard
For all ages. Mrs. Virginia Sheppard, wife of Dr. Sheppard, passed away on this date in 1889. Tours will focus on Mrs. Sheppard and mourning practices of the 19th century. Pay your respects at the Sheppard family cemetery. Information: Anna Truong, 501-2130.

The Crump Legacy
For all ages. Thirty-five years ago on July 17, 1975, Mrs. Sheppard Crump, following the wishes of her husband, donated her property for public use. Come celebrate the lives of General Sheppard and Elizabeth Adams Crump and their legacy to Henrico County with music, games, and special tours. Information: Anna Truong, 501-2130.

Meet the Critters

Family Fun on Marion Hill
For all ages. It's a fun-filled evening at the Clarke-Palmore House Museum! We'll have lawn games, activities, and house tours. Bring a picnic, join in the festivities, and stay for the 8 p.m. showing of the classic 1937 animated film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, part of the "Under the Stars Family Film Series." Civil War Lantern Tours
For all ages. From the passionate agitation at the beginning of the Civil War to its hard fought end, memories were made and not forgotten. Civil War Harvest Time
For all ages. War is more than battles. War affects the civilian population as well as the soldier. Help the men left at home bring in the harvest. Learn about shortages. Ready To Do My Part, Henrico County in World War I
For all ages. The titanic struggle of the First World War is a nearly forgotten conflict, yet this vast struggle left its mark on Henrico County and the surrounding area.
