Ways to Register

1. First Day of Walk-in Registration

Saturday, September 11, 8 a.m.-noon (Fall-Winter 2010-11 programs)
Confederate Hills Recreation Center - 302 Lee Ave.
& Henrico Training Center - 7701 E. Parham Rd. - September 11 only!


2. Walk-in Registration

Continues on Monday, September 13 at the sites listed below.
Office hours: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

5. Online Registration for Free Programs Only!
Online registration for Fall-Winter 2010-11 begins Saturday, September 11 at 8 a.m.

  • To register online you must first set up an online account on the Online Registration page.

Registration Details

  • Other than your own immediate family registration(s), only one (1) other family's registration(s) will be accepted on the "first day of registration"  for preschool and youth programs.
  • Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • A minimum number of participants is required for a program to be held.
  • Registration is accepted until one week before the program start date unless otherwise stated. (Registration deadlines are listed for trips and tournaments.)
  • Late registration may be accepted up until two business days prior to the start date, if space is available and class has not been cancelled.
  • Participants must be the required age by the first day of the program unless otherwise stated.
  • The Division of Recreation and Parks reserves the right to make adjustments deemed necessary on any fee based program or activity.

How to Register

  • Find a class (or several) and register early! (Beginning September 11 for Fall-Winter 2010-11)
  • Complete the entire registration form.
  • Be sure to sign the assumption of liability statement for each individual participant. For participants under 18, a parent/legal guardian must sign. Forms without signature(s) will be returned!
  • Turn in your registration form and payment using one of the "Ways to Register" listed above.
  • Once the completed registration form and fee are received, a receipt will be issued for confirmation. We'll see you in class!

Assumption of Liability
Each individual registrant, age 18 and older, must sign the waiver on the registration form. For each registrant under age 18, a parent or guardian must sign. All registrations received with the waiver unsigned by each participating customer will be returned.

Payment Options

  • Cash: Individuals paying cash are asked to bring exact change.
  • Checks: Make checks payable to County of Henrico.
  • Debit Cards: Visa and MasterCard pin-based debit cards will be accepted at all Walk-in Registration sites from Monday through Friday only.
  • Credit Cards: The Division of Recreation and Parks accepts Discover Card only. The Division of Recreation and Parks does not accept VISA or Mastercard credit cards. A transaction fee is imposed on each charge. The issuer of Discover Card is authorized to pay the amount shown as Total upon proper presentation. Cardmember agrees to pay such Total (together with any other charges due on it) subject to and in accordance with the Cardmember agreement governing the use of Discover Card. Cashback Bonus is paid annually by Discover Card up to 1% based on annual level of purchase. Transaction fees are: $01-100: $1 / $100.01-200: $2 / $200.01-500: $4 / $500.01-1000: $8 / $1000.01: $15

Scholarship Information
The Division of Recreation and Parks is pleased to offer limited financial assistance to Henrico County residents who may qualify based on financial considerations. Information: 501-5101.

Inclement Weather Postponements
In the event of inclement weather, program cancellations will be announced on the Division’s website, the inclement weather hotline (501-5132), and HCTV Comcast channel 17 and Verizon channel 39.

Program Refunds or Cancellations
Requests must be made in writing and received ten (10) working days prior to the program's start date. (For rules regarding Family/Senior Trips, see the Senior page.)

If any program does not meet your expectations, write us a note, and you will receive a full refund (For adult sports leagues, there are no refunds after the first scheduled day of play.).

Directions to Registration Sites

Recreation & Parks Administrative Offices, Human Services Bldg- 8600 Dixon Powers Drive
The Human Services Building is located near the intersection of Parham Road and Staples Mill Road. From the East: Merge onto I-64 W toward I-95/Richmond. Merge onto Staples Mill Road/US-33 W via exit #185. Turn left onto E. Parham Rd. Turn left onto Dixon Powers Drive. From the West: Merge onto I-64 E toward Richmond. Take the Parham Road exit (#181). Turn left onto N. Parham Road. Turn right onto Dixon Powers Drive. Registration begins September 13 at the Recreation & Parks Office.

Belmont Recreation Center, 1600 Hilliard Road
From Points North (Ashland/Fredericksburg/No.Virginia): Interstate 95 south to Parham Road Exit west, (.3 mile) Turn Left onto Brook Road (Rt. 1), (1.2 miles) turn right onto Hilliard Road (Rt. 161) Recreation center will appear on your right.

From Points South (Richmond/Petersburg): Interstate 95 north to Brook Road Exit (Rt. 1) north, (.8 mile) turn left onto Hilliard Road (Rt. 161).  Recreation center will appear on your right.

From Points East (Williamsburg/Va. Beach/Norfolk): Interstate 64 west to Interstate 95 north to Brook Road Exit (Rt. 1) north, (.8 mile) turn left onto Hilliard Road (Rt. 161).  Recreation center will appear on your right.

From Points West (Charlottesville): Interstate 64 east to Interstate 95 north to Brook Road Exit (Rt. 1) north, (.8 mile) turn left onto Hilliard Road (Rt. 161).  Recreation center will appear on your right.

Confederate Hills Recreation Center, 302 Lee Avenue
From Points North (Ashland/Fredericksburg/No.Virginia): Interstate 95 south to Interstate 295 south to Highland Springs/Airport Drive Exit (Rt. 156) south towards Highland Springs (1 mile).  Turn right (west) on East Washington Street for approximately eight blocks to Lee Avenue.  Turn right (north) and enter Confederate Hills Estates.  Recreation center will appear on your left.

From Points South (Richmond/Petersburg): Interstate 95 north to Interstate 64 east to Nine Mile Road (Rt. 33) 2nd Exit east towards Highland Springs (3.7 miles).  Turn left on Lee Avenue for approximately four blocks to Confederate Hills Estates.  Recreation center will appear on your left. 

From Points East (Williamsburg/Va. Beach/Norfolk): Interstate 64 west to Highland Springs/Airport Drive Exit (Rt. 156) north towards Highland Springs.  Cross intersection at Nine Mile Road.  Turn left (west) at next traffic signal onto East Washington Street for approximately eight blocks to Lee Avenue.  Turn right (north) and enter Confederate Hills Estates.  Recreation center will appear on your left.

From Points West (Charlottesville): Interstate 64 east to Interstate 95 south to Interstate 64 east to Nine Mile Road (Rt. 33) 2nd Exit east towards Highland Springs (3.7 miles).  Turn left on Lee Avenue for approximately four blocks to Confederate Hills Estates.  Recreation center will appear on your left. 

Dorey Recreation Center, 2999 Darbytown Road
Dorey Recreation Center is located off of Darbytown Road. Take 64E to Laburnum Avenue Exit. Bear right off the exit ramp on Laburnum Avenue East. Cross over Williamsburg Road and Charles City Road. Turn left at the light at Darbytown Road. Go approximately 1.5 miles. Park entrance is on the right.

Deep Run Recreation Center, 9910 Ridgefield Parkway
Take 64W to Gaskins Road South Exit. Go to Ridgefield Parkway and take a right. Entrance to Deep Run Park is ½ mile on the right. The Recreation Center will be on your left.

Special Registration Site:  Henrico Training Center, 7701 E. Parham Road
Registration is accepted at this site the first day of registration only. The Henrico Training Center is located at the intersection of Parham Road and Shrader Lane, 1.4 miles from the Human Services Building, before crossing Broad Street. To enter the parking area from Parham Road, turn onto Shrader Lane and take a left into the parking area. Registration will be held at the Henrico Training Center on specific days.
