Shelter reservations will be accepted Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the following locations:

RULES AND INFORMATION ABOUT PICNIC SHELTER RESERVATIONS

Please help keep the shelter(s) and surrounding areas clean for the next group to use. Our shelters are used continuously throughout the day, often with little maintenance time between each group’s use. Your assistance in keeping the area clean and ready to use by the next group is greatly appreciated. Please read and adhere to the important information below. Keep this information with you and be sure to take a copy of your reservation receipt and permit with you to your reserved location.

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE PROHIBITED ON COUNTY PROPERTY.

The reservation form must be filled out completely. Reservations must be received a minimum of five (5) business days prior to the reservation date and no earlier than one (1) year in advance.

All requests for date changes must be put in writing and received in this office at least two (2) weeks prior to the original reservation date (limited to availability).

Parties with reservations will have priority for use of the shelter(s) during the time(s) reserved. Reservation signs will be posted in the shelter(s). However, please take the copy of your reservation receipt and permit with you for verification of reservation on that day. Picnic shelters are available at all other times on a first-come, first-served basis.

No fees can be collected within the park without written permission from the Division of Recreation and Parks.

A single shelter has a maximum seating capacity of 50 people. Large groups are encouraged to reserve Dorey Park shelters #4, #5, #6, and #7.

You must request in writing to have any of the following:

• Signs, banners, caterers, extra grills, cookers (of any type).
• Permission to place more than 50 people per shelter.
• Weddings.
• Clowns or entertainers
• Any other items that the County needs to be aware of.

If you wish to use a sports field within a park, you need to make a reservation. Requests must be made in writing to: Henrico Division of Recreation and Parks, Sports Section, P.O. Box 90775, Henrico, Virginia, 23273-0775 or fax the Sports Section at 501-5284. A rental fee is charged.

No sound system of any type is allowed within the park. This includes boom boxes, bull horns, p.a. systems or any other type of system.

Rentals only include the shelter area and adjacent grills, not the playgrounds or any other area around the shelter. The general public is always welcome within the park.

Refund Policy: Refunds will be given when you cancel your reservation at least 30 days prior to your rental date or in the event of inclement weather. Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to your reservation will be given a credit for future use. Credits are good for one calendar year. Please submit all cancellation requests by mail to Joanne Ferrall, Henrico Division of Recreation and Parks, P.O.
