The following agencies/programs received funding through Henrico County to provide Homeless Prevention and Rapid Rehousing (HPRP) services. This funding comes directly through the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the program is administered in accordance with federal requirements.
Some programs are using these funds to supplement existing programs, and others are new programs. Funds awarded through Henrico County may only be used for Henrico County residents. However, some programs may serve those outside of Henrico County with other sources.
Area Congregations Together in Service (ACTS)
ACTS provides prevention services to families and individuals who are at risk of becoming homeless. Clients must have income that is 50% or below the Area Median Income for Henrico County residents and are experiencing a housing crisis. ACTS will adhere to HPRP guidelines and will accept referrals for any county resident meeting the established criteria. ACTS will complete an assessment on each client, including all information necessary for reporting requirements. Assessments will include verifications of need, income verification and other data that will determine eligibility for stimulus funds. Clients will be given appointments primarily at ACTS offices located at 2325 W. Broad Street. In addition, some assessments and appointments may be provided at the Capital Region Workforce Center. For information call 249-5431 or 249-5430.
Commonwealth Catholic Charities (CCC)
As a sub-recipient of Henrico County HPRP Program funds, Commonwealth Catholic Charities will provide homeless prevention services to individuals and families residing in Henrico County at risk of losing housing. Financial assistance through HPRP funds is limited to assistance for rent and utilities. Mortgage assistance cannot be provided with these funds. Appointments are required and can be scheduled by calling 804-285-5986 on Tuesday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and Thursday beginning at 9:30 a.m. Calls are accepted until all available appointment slots have been filled.
