Eastern Force Main Sewer Project

This project involves the construction of a 48-inch and 54-inch diameter sewer force main from Portugee Road, near the intersection with Poplar Springs Road, connecting to the Water Reclamation Facility, located on WRVA Road. Construction of the sewer main in the Route 5 area is expected to start in the Fall of 2008 and be completed in the Summer of 2009. Along Yahley Mill, Poplar Spring and Charles City Roads; construction of the sewer force main and water line is expected to start in the Spring of 2008, and be completed in the Spring of 2010.

Comments and recommendations received at the initial public meeting on December 6, 2005 have been reviewed and the proposed project alignment has been revised slightly. The revised alignment can be seen by clicking on the drawing below.

There was another public information meeting held on May 11, 2006. In attendance were staff from the County and the design engineer who provided an overview of the project and discussed the revised alignment.
