Traffic

The Traffic Engineering division is responsible for determining roadway speeds, as well as installing and maintaining traffic signals and signs. This Division also conducts traffic studies and traffic count, as well as installs and maintains pavements markings on Henrico County roadways. This Division is also responsible for reviewing plans of development from a traffic aspect.

The Traffic Engineering Division is responsible for the issuance of hauling permits for oversized loads that will be traveling on Henrico county maintained roads. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) handles oversized loads traveling on State maintained roads within Henrico County.
