Henrico is the only county in Virginia that uses the County Manager form. There is an elected Board of Supervisors, which is the policy-making body, and an appointed County Manager, who is the administrative head of government.
Yes, there are Boards and Commissions that advise the Board of Supervisors and County Administration on matters of concern to Henrico citizens.
Here is meeting information. The Board of Supervisors generally holds regular Board meetings on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Administration Building (PDF), which is located at the Henrico County Government Center (PDF), 4301 East Parham Road. The Board also holds periodic special meetings. Click here for a complete listing of this year's regular Board meeting dates.
Please see this page, which lets you put in your address and find out who your supervisor is, as well as your Delegate, State Senator, and Congressman.
Henrico citizens are represented by an elected School Board and by elected members of the Virginia General Assembly and United States Congress (House and Senate). The main Legislative page is here.
The County Code is available online.
