Staff Fitness Trainers are dedicated to providing a comprehensive exercise program to motivate employees of all ages and all athletic abilities. Because we view each employee as unique, we create an innovative, personal program for every person we train. Fill out a fitness training registration form and return it to the Fitness & Wellness Division. You will be contacted to schedule your 30-minute goal setting session with your chosen Fitness Trainer.
Ayse Mazicioglu, Senior Fitness Trainer, is certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor through the American Fitness Professionals & Associates. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education Teaching and Training, and holds a Virginia K-12 Physical Education Teaching License. She ran the 800 – 1500 meter, 400 meter relay, and cross county as a member of the Turkish National Team. Her best time in the 800 meter was 2.12.33, and 4.35.0 in the 1500 meter races. For many years, she held the 800 meter indoor track record in Turkey with a time of 2.14.8.
Ayse has 15 years in teaching and 35 years of fitness training experience. She cares about others who are looking to lose weight, are concerned with health problems, and/or are interested in running programs. Ayse can work with any age group and can also do individual training sessions. “I believe with an individual program, everyone can be successful!” says Ayse.
Joshua Gaskins, Fitness Trainer, is a Health Fitness Specialist with the American College of Sports Medicine and a Certified Fitness Trainer with the International Sports Sciences Association. He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health, Physical Education and Exercise Science. Joshua has experience working with overweight adolescents, in corporate fitness, and sport performance for athletes aged 7 through 25. He has worked with clients who have had a wide array of physical abilities and fitness levels. His passion to impact people physically, mentally, and spiritually through health and fitness, shows through his versatility, experience, diligence, and character. Personally, Josh enjoys challenging himself with exercise and pushing himself to new limits. He exercises using unconventional training methods such as kettlebell, bodyweight and grip strength training, and also High Intensity Training (H.I.T.) such as CrossFit, plyometrics and sprint intervals. The quote “If not you, then who?” motivates Josh to further himself to help advance people.
