Welcome to the Old Dominion Chapter (ODC) of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP). We welcome visitors to our monthly meetings and would love for you to join us.

Our theme this year is "Commitment to Action" and compliments IAAP's theme of  "Power of Commitment". Chapter meetings are held on the third Tuesday of most months with an educational program, a business meeting and dinner. We host an annual educational seminar, an Executive Appreciation event in October and celebrate Administrative Professionals Day   in April.

The Old Dominion Chapter was the first chapter in Virginia and was chartered in 1951. Our membership includes various office support personnel from the Richmond Metropolitan area and we're a part of the Virginia-West Virginia Division and the Southeast District.A member-elected Board of Directors governs ODC with numerous committees that assist with Chapter business. There are numerous opportunities for members to join a committee and share and learn. The Certification Committee promotes the Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) and the Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) certifications. The Community Service Committee selects several community service projects for our members to participate in each year, some are recurring. The Scholarship Committee awards one or more scholarships each spring to students in administrative support technology curriculum or candidates interested in the CPS or CAP certification. The Membership Committee is involved in recruiting, orienting and retaining our members. The Program Committee plans educational programs for our monthly chapter meetings and other chapter-sponsored functions. The Ways and Means Committee raises funds for our operating budget and other financial needs of the chapter.

Feel free to contact any member of the Board of Directors if you have questions or want more information. You can also visit IAAP's website (www.iaap-hq.org) or the Virginia-West Virginia Division's website (www.iaap-va-wv.org)

Thanks for visiting our website and we'd love for you to "check us out" in person at one of our chapter meetings or other special events.
