Youth Conservation Camp
July 13-19, 2014
Henricopolis SWCD annually selects two Henrico County students to attend Youth Conservation Camp, a week-long summer conservation camp for high school students. The camp, sponsored by the VA Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts, is attended by students selected by SWCDs throughout the state. Campers participate in outdoor activities and learn about Virginia’s natural resources from conservation professionals. The cost of attendance is incurred by the SWCD.
Campers participate in daily field trips. Highlights include trips to Claytor Lake State Park, the New River, and the Cascades waterfall. Campers also have the opportunity to canoe, swim, play volleyball, go bowling, and much more!
Applicants must currently be in grades 9-12 during the 2013-2014 academic year.
A $75 refundable deposit is required with applications.
Applications are due to Henricopolis SWCD April 15!
