Deputy County Manager for Community Services

GeorgeDrumwrightJane D. Crawley has direct responsibilities over the Capital Area Workforce Investment Board and Community Corrections Program as well as Juvenile Detention, Mental Health and Developmental Services, Public Health, Social Services, and the Virginia Community Crime Control Act. Ms. Crawley began her career with Henrico County in 1991 in the Department of Social Services as a program manager. In 2002, she became the Assistant Director and in 2006 became the Director of Social Services. Ms. Crawley was appointed to the County Manager's office on September 8, 2012 as Deputy County Manager for Community Services.

She has more than thirty-one years of professional experience in the human services realm and has held noteworthy positions at the state and local levels as well as in the private sector. She is a staunch advocate for children’s rights and family empowerment.

Ms. Crawley earned a Bachelor’s of Social Work degree from Norfolk State University and a Masters degree in Public Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a past member of Henrico County’s Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Board of Directors; the Virginia League of Social Services Executives and was an appointed member of the State’s Child Fatality Review Team. Currently, Ms. Crawley is an active member of the Virginia Association of Local Human Services Administrators and a host of other professional commissions and boards.
