Legislative Liaison

Mike Schnurman joined the Henrico County Manager's Office in August 2007. As the primary legislative resource for County agencies and key officials, Mr. Schnurman develops and coordinates the County's annual legislative program and represents the County's interests and viewpoints before Congress and the Virginia General Assembly.

A decorated United States Marine Corps veteran of the Persian Gulf War, Mr. Schnurman most recently served as Legislative Assistant to the Virginia Senate Majority Leader and previously worked for the National White Collar Crime Center as the Special Assistant to the Director for Government Relations. Mr. Schnurman earned a Bachelor of Applied Studies degree from the University of Richmond where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.  He attended George Mason University School of Law and received a Masters of Public Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University .  He is a 2011 graduate of Leadership Metro Richmond and is currently enrolled in the International Business Certificate Program at VCU.  Mr. Schnurman serves on the Board of Directors of the Jamestown 4-H Educational Center and the University of Richmond School of Continuing and Professional Studies.
