Our Mission

Building a deck? Thinking about an addition to the house? Floodplain questions? Make the Permit Center your first stop for information, assistance, permits, GIS maps, and more.

• We have introduced new technology so we can better serve you when you are applying for Building Permits.

• Geographic Information System (GIS) will enhance staff's ability to research information you are seeking for Building Inspection, Planning, Public Utilities and Public Works. If you need copies of maps, GIS allows staff to print maps in color or black and white while you wait.

• For your convenience within the center, we have also added Public Access Stations to view and print black and white county maps quickly and within a minimum amount of time.

• Many different kinds of maps are available for you to view and print. There are online samples of GIS maps you can get at the Center, and online samples of other kinds of maps you can get, such as current water and sewer maps, old zoning maps, and subdivision plats. Many of the maps are available in color or black-and-white. The Permit Center staff members are there to assist you in printing.
