"Amending the Virginia Constitution: It's In Your Hands" will be the topic of Fairfield District Supervisor Frank J. Thornton's next town meeting on Monday, September 9, at 7 p.m., at the Eastern Government Center, Multipurpose Room, 3820 Nine Mile Road.
"We are going to discuss Virginia's Constitution, and the five proposed amendments that will be on the voting ballot this November," Thornton said. "We want to give Fairfield residents the opportunity to ask questions and fully understand these proposed amendments so that they can make an educated, informed decision about which way they'll vote," he said.

Henrico County Director of General Services Paul N. Proto has been appointed by Governor George Allen to Virginia's Design-Build/Construction Management Review Board.
The use of design-build/construction management approaches to capital projects by political subdivisions was approved during the 1996 session of the Virginia General Assembly. Proto will be working with the county attorney's office to establish appropriate local guidelines by ordinance.
