The Henrico Division of Police has scheduled a rabies clinic for Saturday, November 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the State Fairgrounds at Strawberry Hill in the 4-H Building. Enter Gate 4. Rabies shots are required for dogs and cats four months old and older and will be given for $6 each with certificates of immunization issued. Dog tags will be sold for $10.

Varina District Supervisor Jim Donati will not hold a town meeting this month. The next Varina town meeting will be held Monday, November 18, at 7 p.m., at the Eastern Government Center, 3820 Nine Mile Road.

Meetings are usually held the third Monday of each month and are open to the public.

Henrico County Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program will conduct training for new volunteers this fall. Twenty-five people are needed who want to help abused and neglected children. Volunteers will receive 30 hours of preparational instruction to develop and present an assessment of the child's situation to the court.

Classes will be held on Wednesdays from 6 to 9 p.m., October 23 through December 11. There will be two Saturday sessions, October 26 and December 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For more information or an application, call 672-5256.
