"Youth-Parent Night: A Frank Discussion About Drugs" is the topic of Fairfield District Supervisor Frank Thornton's next constituent meeting on Monday, December 7, at 7 p.m., at Wilder Middle School, 6900 Wilkinson Road.

"Drugs and lack of communication between generations are issues that greatly affect our society today," Thornton said. "We want to face these two issues by inviting parents and their children to communicate and openly discuss the problem of drugs," he said.

Thornton encourages public participation; in an effort to reach as many citizens as possible, he asks each participant to invite three other people to join the meeting.

Varina District Supervisor Jim Donati will discuss how Henrico stacks up to other localities at his next town meeting on Monday, November 16, at 7 p.m., at the Eastern Government Center, 3820 Nine Mile Road.

Deputy County Manager Leon Johnson will join Donati in explaining the county's ranking, and presenting a research overview.

"This is a topic that many are interested in," Donati said. "People have questions about the county's revenue sources and would like to hear how they compare to other localities. Those questions and concerns will be answered at this meeting," he said.

Donati generally holds meetings the third Monday of each month. The meetings are open to the public.
