PHONE: 261-8730

The Department of Public Utilities is advising residents near Gaskins Road they may hear small explosions or loud noises between Ridgefield Parkway and Quioccasin Road. Work crews began controlled blasting of underground rock on September 18 for the Gaskins Road Raw Water Transmission Main Project. Blasting will continue for approximately six weeks, Monday through Friday and some Saturdays, until all rock is removed. The controlled blasting will be similar to methods used the past several months on Gaskins Road north of Ridgefield Parkway. Workers will then install two 54-inch raw water transmission mains and a 30-inch potable water main.

The county will make every effort to minimize the impact of construction for residents and traffic in the vicinity during this vital project.
