  • All those attending a program (that requires registration) must be listed on the registration form along with the required assumption of liability signatures.

Arts & Crafts

Art From Recyclables
For ages 13-16. No more throwing plastic drink bottles in the recycling bin. We’ll show you how to turn trash into art! Learn how to create decorative containers, jewelry, floral designs and more. All supplies are provided. Instructor: Beth Jarvis. Information: 343-3506.

Soap-making

Stained Glass for Teens!
For ages 13-17. Get off the couch. Get out of the house. Put down your cell and come do something different and creative this spring break! You’ll learn to work with stained glass to create a personalized mosaic window or jewelry box. More information about projects will be provided before the first night of class. Sew Cool for Teens!
For ages 11-15. With basic machine and sewing skills, learn how to make simple projects like pillows, curtains, wall-hangings, or totes. Participants will complete at least one project to take home. All supplies are provided. Information: 261-6898.

Garden Art - Rock Painting

Rad & Fab Stenciling!
For ages 13-17. Wall-hanging or pillow—make it your own by mixing the paint, creating a design, stenciling the fabric, and stitching it all together! We’ll show you how in this two-day workshop. Information: 261-6898.

Sports

3-on-3 Basketball Tournament
Come out and hoop it up at the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center 3-on-3 double elimination basketball tournament. If you think you and your friends are the best ballers around, this is your chance to prove it. Trophies will be provided for 1st place and runners-up in each age category. Teams require at least 3 but no more than 4 players. Information: 225-2056.

Disc Golf
For ages 13-15. Join us for a round of disc golf! Disc golf is one of the fastest growing games in the country and is very easy to learn. This program will teach you the rules of play as well as basic techniques for throwing and putting. Equipment provided. Information: 290-0305.

Tennis
For ages 12-17. Players receive instruction and develop skills in the fundamentals of the game, ball control, strokes, elementary tactics and desirable practice habits and court etiquette. Our tennis classes offer high quality group instruction with a certified Tennis Teaching Professional. We keep a low ratio of students per instructor, which means you will receive a lot of personal attention. Participants must bring their own tennis racquet. Instructor: Charles Gray. Teen Open Gym Basketball
For ages 14-17. Join us for open gym basketball on Saturday mornings. Parents or guardians are required to sign a liability waiver provided on site. Henrico residents only. Open gym will not be held on County-observed holidays.

Unless listed otherwise, programs are taught by Recreation Staff. All fitness, dance, and sports programs are taught by instructors who are nationally certified in their area(s) of expertise.
