Arts & Crafts

A Sew Cool Stuffed Animal!

4-H Cooking Class
For ages 9-12. Henrico 4-H presents a nutrition education program to teach youth the importance of healthy living, food and nutrition, and acceptance of diverse cultures. Karate (Beginner)
For ages 6-12. This class teaches the basic fundamentals of American-style karate. It includes the requirements for Yellow Belt under this karate system. For ages 6-12. Looking for a way for your child to get some exercise? Get them NRG-ized! Each class incorporates non-stop exercises and activities including obstacle courses, relays, games, and strength, flexibility, and agility drills. Building Explorers at Walkerton

A Day on the Farm
For ages 8-12. Participants will have the opportunity to dress in costume and experience life on the farm in 1860. They will help with the necessary household and animal chores children were responsible for and will cook using mid-19th-century methods. Walkerton Spring Gardeners

Guitar Primer (Prep Course)
For ages 9-12. For the complete beginner who has not learned about holding the guitar, tuning, chords, or notes. Students will develop skills to continue in music and are introduced to simple music notation. Desire to learn and a guitar (acoustic or electric) are the only requirements. Instructor: Scott Martin. Deep Run Camp-In
For ages 6-12. Registration of a paying adult is required. Want to try camping but hate the idea of creepy crawlies and sleeping on dirt? Join us for an overnight camp-in and enjoy the great outdoors without having to endure the elements. Dinner, games, s’mores, crafts, a light breakfast, and fun are all included! Families must provide sleeping bags, pillows, or anything they might need for overnight. Information: 290-0305.

Cane Pole Workshop
For ages 8-12. Gear up for the spring fishing season by making your very own cane pole. These poles have been used for centuries to catch a variety of fish. Fishing Merit Badge

Soccer Skills Development
For ages 10-12. Take your game to the next level and prepare for the spring soccer season! Participants will be introduced to a variety of drills and developmental exercises with a focus on physical fitness and stamina, defensive skills, offensive skills, and strategies. Spring Break Basketball Clinic
For ages 8-12. This clinic will be a great place for young basketball players to improve their skills, work hard, make new friends, and have fun! Tennis
Tennis is a great sport that you can play the rest of your lives. What better time to get started than when you are young? This class will focus on the fundamentals of the game. Practice drills in proper strokes, serves and volley will be included. Our tennis classes offer high quality group instruction with a certified Tennis Teaching Professional. We keep a low ratio of students per instructor, which means you will receive a lot of personal attention. Participants must bring their own tennis racquets. Instructor: Charles Gray.
