The Division of Recreation and Parks invites you to a “Pep Rally” to celebrate the grand opening of the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center! Join us for tours of the new center, sports and fitness demonstrations, live music, arts and crafts, face painting, fire safety activities, and more. Families will also enjoy a Glen Lea Lions home football game and a Punt, Pass, & Kick competition. Information will be available on the new facility, its programs, as well as Henrico’s 400th anniversary. For more information, call 225-2056.

The Eastern Henrico Recreation Center (EHRC) is nearly complete! The development of the 24-acre site includes a 25,773 square foot recreation center that has been registered, designed, and specified to comply with the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) rating system.

The EHRC will house fitness spaces, a gymnasium, small and large classrooms, activity spaces, and administration offices. Outdoor recreation facilities include a walking trail, football field, track, multi-purpose field, concession building, large shelter, and restroom buildings.

Participants of all ages will enjoy a variety of recreational programs and classes including arts and crafts, sports, music, and more. Preschoolers will enjoy an activity area dedicated to children ages 3-5 that will host a “Kiddie Kollege” program and age-appropriate classes. If you are planning a wedding, shower, party, or meeting, the new center will have spaces available for rent. These spaces include a ballroom, activity room, gymnasium, meeting room, kitchen, and picnic shelter. Reservation details will be available on October 10.
