Henrico Theatre hosts a variety of arts programming for all ages and is available to rent for recitals, concerts, group meetings, and multimedia presentations. Henrico Theatre is proud to have state-of-the-art technology for all of your theatre or business needs.
Henrico Theatre, located in Highland Springs, originally opened as a movie palace on April 25, 1938. Tickets were $0.25 for adults and $0.10 for children. The Theatre was designated as a bomb shelter during World War II and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In 1998, Henrico County purchased the property from the Horne family, owners and operators from 1976 to 1998.

River City Band
Friday, April 25, 7pm, Free.
Based in a rich traditional bluegrass sound and set up, River City Band is a group that stays true to their down home roots while continuously exploring many different genres and tastes. With crisp, soulful harmonies, strong lead instruments, and a rhythm that can burn down the barn or hold your hand steadily through a beautiful waltz, the group can create the right mood and texture for any setting. Reservations are required.

Ages 5 through 12 with an adult. Reptiles Alive! is a wildly-exciting and educational introduction to all kinds of reptiles from all kinds of places! You will meet live animals from Africa, Asia, Australia and North America while you learn snake secrets and laugh at our lizard stories and turtle tales! Featuring a giant snake, alligator, tortoise, monitor lizard, and other amazing reptiles. Reservations are required and can be made beginning Monday, March 24. Due to the nature of this program, space is limited to 25 children and latecomers will not be admitted once the program has started.
Henrico Pops Chorus Concert
Tuesday, May 13, 7:30pm, Free.
All ages. The Henrico Pops Chorus will present their spring concert, “Young at Heart.” Join the chorus for an evening of fun Broadway tunes for the young and young at heart. Reservations are required. Information: 501-5859.

All ages. Join us for another wonderful performance by these Henrico Theatre favorites! You’ll hear beloved hymns, original creations, and toe-tappin’ favorites - from Amazing Grace to Crazy, with a little bit of everything in between! Reservations are required.
Big Bang Boom

All ages. This rockin’ 3-piece power pop band consists of talented artists and long-time musicians Chuck Folds, Steve Willard, and Eddie Walker. But this group doesn’t play just any old average music - these dynamic dads play parent-friendly children’s music! They write songs with a pop sensibility by cleverly mixing alternative, hiphop, pop, country, and other genres to create music that parents AND children can relate to and enjoy! Reservations are required and can be made beginning May 19.
Doors Wide Open Jazz Band
Friday, June 27, 7pm, Free.
All ages. DWO performs jazz, funk, and fusion with a touch of rhythm and blues. They’ll take you on a musical journey and leave you wanting more! With over 20 years of combined musical experience, Doors Wide Open will surely provide you with a wonderful evening of entertainment! Reservations are recommended and can be made beginning May 19.
Richmond Brass & Percussion Consort
Tuesday, July 1, 7pm, Free.
All ages. Join us for a patriotic concert celebrating our nation’s Independence Day. Directed by Mr. George Tuckwiller, Assistant Professor of Music at Virginia State University. Reservations are required and can be made beginning May 19.
SPARC presents “All Shook Up!”

All ages. SPARC SummerStarz Touring ensemble, 30 of Richmond’s most talented actors, ages 9-15, will take the stage in All Shook Up! This American jukebox musical takes a spin on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night using the songs of Elvis Presley. Directed by Joy Garrett and Jason Marks, this rock ‘n roll hit is sure to be enjoyed by the whole family! Reservations are required and can be made beginning June 23. Information: 501-5859.

The facility has two rooms available for rent:
- The Main Theatre has a maximum capacity of 400. Rental of the Main Theatre includes the use of the Green Room and dressing rooms.
- The Reception Room and Lounge (second floor) has a combined maximum capacity of 72 individuals. Rental of the second floor includes use of the kitchen.
The parking lot has the capacity for 135 vehicles.
