Minimum Eligibility Requirements: All programs have minimum eligibility requirements for participation. Minimum eligibility requirements may include, but are not limited to: age, prerequisite skills, safety, endurance, behavioral, personal care, and medical issues. For specific information on a program’s minimum eligibility requirements, please contact the staff person listed below each class or program.

ARTful Expressions
Open to individuals with disabilities who meet minimal eligibility requirements. Interested in sharing time with friends, making some new friends and sharing great times all while making a great craft project? Join our enthusiastic staff for seasonal craft projects. Morning Mashup
Ages 18+. Open to individuals with developmental disabilities who meet minimum eligibility requirements. Participants must be independent with ADL’s and be able to follow directions. This group will focus on learning new and exciting recreation and leisure skills. Cooking, crafting, exercising, and socialization are just some of the exciting activities you can expect from this group! Meeting dates are Feb 5 & 19, Mar 5 & 19, and Apr 2 & 16. Reservations are required for each session. Please call 501-5135 to reserve your spot.

Out on the Town
Ages 15+. Open to individuals with developmental disabilities who meet minimum eligibility requirements. This active group will explore what our area has to offer for recreation and leisure opportunities. The group will meet once a month and explore sporting venues, cultural opportunities and social events. Please call 501-5135 for the monthly calendar. Individuals will need to provide any admittance fees associated with the outing.


Fitness

Club FIT
Ages 18+. Open to individuals with developmental disabilities who meet minimum eligibility requirements. Music, movement, and fun are the three focal points of this exciting class. We will focus on cardiovascular and muscular conditioning as well as stretching. If you are looking for a class that is FUN and exciting, this class is for you! Information: 501-5135.

Songbirds
Ages 18+. Open to individuals with developmental disabilities who meet minimum eligibility requirements. Come have fun with friends while singing and sharing friendships. Our music therapist will guide you with techniques to develop a wonderful experience in music. The last class on either April 7 or May 12 will be a performance. Information: 501-5135.

Sports

FUNdamental Sports
Ages 7-12. Open to individuals with disabilities who meet minimum eligibility requirements. This class will focus on the fundamentals of basic sports. Each class will focus on a specific sport. Each child will not only learn the skills needed to play each sport, but will gain knowledge about the game and good sportsmanship. The environment is safe, engaging and most of all FUN!

Dance Registration
Dance registration will be open to Henrico County residents EXCLUSIVELY for two weeks (10 business days). After the two-week period, remaining spaces will be available to anyone requesting them. Henrico County residents shall be defined as a person:

  • with a mailing address within Henrico County.
  • who resides in a group home located in Henrico County.
  • who resides in a group home outside Henrico County but can document a home address within Henrico County (parent’s or guardian’s home only).

Don’t Forget!

  • Registration is first-come, first-served.
  • Registration is required in advance.
  • Payment will not be accepted at the door.
  • Each participant’s name and address must be provided at the time of registration.
  • Each participant (or guardian if applicable) must sign the liability waiver on the registration form.
  • Participants must meet minimum eligibility requirements.

Instructors: Unless listed otherwise, programs are taught by Recreation Staff. All fitness, dance, and sports programs are taught by instructors who are nationally certified in their area(s) of expertise.
