43rd Basic Academy Graduates

Richmond, VA- Sheriff Michael L. Wade is pleased to announce the graduation of the Henrico County Sheriff's Office 43rd Basic Academy, held at the Henrico County Training Center last night, June 17, 2008. The nine Henrico Deputies combined with seven Richmond City Deputies received certificates of completion for their academic, physical, and firearms achievements. The names of the graduates include Henrico Deputies: Crystal Y. Cruel, Robert J. Shope, III, Holly M. Cooke, Solomon B. Beyene, Wanda R. Kitt, Sharisse D. Champion, Sameka M. Canada, Annette N. Gipson, and Penny L. Walker. The Richmond City Deputies include: Steven L. Miller, Joyce A. Clarke, Brandon S. Bolton, Caroline Green, Maxine Cordon, Dervin Ray Jordan, and Quentin M. Parker.

The Sheriff's training academy consists of 536 hours of comprehensive academic and practical instruction in civil and criminal law, jail operations, court security, and civil process. The training also includes extensive firearms, defensive tactics, fire fighting and emergency procedures.

The Academy includes training by the Henrico Sheriff's Office instructors and the combined efforts of Henrico County public safety agencies.
