Director, Arthur D. Petrini, P.E.
Arthur D. Petrini, P.E., was appointed in 2001. He is a graduate of the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (1973) and a Master of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering (1976) and an Associates Degree in Business Management (1994) from Mitchell College.
He is a registered Virginia Professional Engineer and holds a Class II certificate for Waste Management Facility Operation.
Previously, Mr. Petrini was the Executive Director for the Rivanna Water & Sewer and Solid Waste Authorities serving the Charlottesville/Albemarle community and has served in the public service sector in the public works/utilities field since 1973.
He is a member of the Water Environment Federation, the Virginia Water Environment Association, the American Water Works Association (AWWA), the Virginia section-AWWA and the Solid Waste Association of North America.
Assistant Director, William I. Mawyer, Jr. , P.E.
William I. Mawyer, Jr., P.E., was appointed in April 2001. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration from Averett College.
He is a registered Professional Engineer in Virginia. Mr. Mawyer has over 20 years of experience in public facilities management.
Most recently, he was the Director of the Engineering and Public Works Department for the County of Albemarle, Virginia. Prior to employment with Albemarle County, Mr. Mawyer was an engineering manager with the University of Virginia and Naval Facilities Engineering in Norfolk.
He is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, American Society of Engineers, American Public Works Association and American Water Works Asssociation.
