New Sandston Historic District
On September 23, 2021 the Virginia State Review Board approved the listing of a 226 acre area in the Sandston community for inclusion in the Virginia Landmarks Register. Simultaneously, the Virginia Board of Historic Resources recommended to the National Park Service a listing in the National Register of Historic Places. Once both listings are in place, likely by the end of the year, this honorary designation will enable property owners making qualified improvements to access tax credits of up to 45% of their investment.
The designations followed two years of historical research and documentation and several community meetings. More information about the meetings and the project overall can be found here.
